Email Account
  1. How to setup email account for Outlook Express?
    Go to Outlook Express Quick Email Setup for easy setup.

  2. How do I change my Password?
    Simply Email us at:
    With the username or email address you want to change.

  3. How do I check my Email away from home?
    Go to http://webmail.lanset.com/
    Then login with your username and password (remember no @lanset.com on the user name.)

  4. How to add additional Lanset email accounts?
    Please E-Mail Us At: for Additional E-Mail Accounts.
    Please include the new email address and password.
    Note: Passwords can only contain letters or numbers, any other character will be left out. All email addresses and passwords are in lowercase.

  5. How do I get my server information?
    Your Server information is the following (All lower case):
    Incoming (POP3) mail server : pop3.lanset.com
    Outgoing (SMTP) mail server : smtp.lanset.com

  6. My email got rejected when I tried to send email?
    You'll need to enable the authentication for SMTP (outgoing mail).

  7. I can't view any attachments under Outlook Express.
    Go under "Tools," "Options," and then the "Security" tab.
    Uncheck the box that says "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus"
    Click "Ok" and return to your Inbox, your attachments should be back to normal now.

Lanset Personal Webspace

  1. How do I activate my Web Page?
    Email us at : with your username and password.
    Or use our ON LINE FORM.

    Example :
    username : bobsmith
    password : 123345

  2. How do I get my Webspace information?
    FrontPage 97/98/2000/XP, point the FrontPage Explorer to http://webs.lanset.com/USERNAME.
    The user name is your Lanset Username and your password is your Lanset password.

    If you use an FTP client, point it to webs.lanset.com and login with USERNAME and your Lanset password. It will automatically log you into your root directory. Put all you files here and in any sub directories you wish to create. There will be a number of directories already in your space. Do not delete or modify them, they are for Front Page. Your index or main page must be called default.htm for you site to work properly. Before using your space, be sure to read the Terms of Service located at http://www.lanset.net/Terms_of_service.htm

    Ws_FTP, CuteFTP, Bullet Proof FTP, Etc. the Host name is webs.lanset.com the user name is your lanset USERNAME the password is your Password.

    Business Account / Domain :
    If you have a Personal Account, disregard this.
    If you use Front Page, point the Front Page Explorer to webs.lanset.net/LOGINUSERNAME. The user name is wwwnet/LOGINUSERNAME and your password is your Lanset password.

  3. I already have my own Domain name, can you host my domain name under
    Lanset Personal Webspace?

    No, we do not host Domain name for Lanset Personal Webspace, but you can sign up for web hosting at www.hostik.com to have your domain name hosted.

  4. I can't FTP into my account through my web browser.
    If you are attempting to FTP in through Internet Explorer, and get a blank "page cannot be displayed" error, but no prompt for a username or password, go into "Tools" "Internet Options" and the "Advanced" tab. Make sure that the box marked "Enable folder view for FTP sites" is checked.

Internet Access

  1. How do I find a local dial-up number?
    In order to look up other Local Dial in numbers, go to our Website, http://www.lanset.net/access.htm
    Enter your Area Code and Prefix then click "Look it up"

    Example :
    if your phone number is 916 555-1212
    then enter 916 for the area code
    and 555 for the Prefix.

    Choose the city, or area closest to you and it will show you ALL of the dial in numbers for the surrounding area.

  2. How do I change my local dial-up number?
    In order to change your dial in number, go to our Website, http://support.lanset.net/pages/change.html
    Choose your operating system (Windows 3.x,95,98,NT, Macintosh OS 7.5x-8.x) and choose the program you use to dial into Lanset. It will show you how to change your dial in number.
    CHECK WITH THE OPERATOR BEFORE DIALING ANY NUMBER TO ENSURE IT IS LOCAL.

  3. How do I stop getting disconnected?
    Check your settings in Your Control Panel, specifically Modems & Internet/Internet Options. You're looking for an option that says "disconnect if idle for more than XX minutes. If It's Checked, Simply Uncheck it.

  4. How do I disconnect from the Internet?
    Windows: In your lower right hand corner you SHOULD have an icon that looks like two computer monitors, double click it then click the Disconnect button
    Macintosh : Go back to your dialer (PPP, Remote Access, FreePPP, Config PPP, etc & press the Disconnect button.
