Windows 7 and 8 Dial-up Settings

Create a New Dial-up Networking Connection

  1. Click on the Windows Logo button or Start button and select Connect To.
  2. Click on 'Open Network and Sharing Center'.
  3. Click on 'Setup a new connection or network'.
  4. Select 'Setup a dial-up connection' and then click next.
  5. In the box labeled 'Phone Number:' type your local access number.
  6. In the box labeled 'User Name:' type your username.
  7. In the box labeled 'Password:' type your password.
  8. In the box labeled 'Connection Name:' type Lanset and click Connect.
  9. The computer will begin dialing.
  10. While it is, you can close the Control Panels.
  11. To connect to the internet, open Internet Explorer or any other internet program, and when you aren't connected, it will bring up the dialup/connection screen.
  12. Just click on 'Dial' or 'Connect'.
