How to disable Auto-Dial

Windows controls the dial up features through Internet Explorer. If your computer is unexpectedly dialing without your permission, do the following:
  1. Click on Start
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Click on Control Panel
  4. Double click on Internet Options
  5. Click on the tab that says "Connections"
  6. Click the white dot next to "Never Dial a Connection"

  7. Click on Apply.
  8. Click on Ok.

Please Note: This function only resolves connection when dialing with Windows. If you follow the above steps and your issue is not resolved, then another program is causing your computer to dial. Common programs that can force your computer to dial are AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, NetMeeting, and any other program that requires an internet connection to function properly.
